£750 donation to Wadars

Browns Natural Pet Store owner Rob Brown presented a cheque to Wadars Operation manager Tracey Cadman for £750 recently at their Ferring store.

Browns Natural Pet Store have been fundraising for Wadars for the last 3 years now but with the pandemic the last few years have made fundraising particularly challenging. The figure of £750 was raised through a combination of store collection pots, raffles, in store events before the pandemic such as our puppy parties and breed specific meet ups and some wonderful contributions from our amazing supporters.

In addition to the money raised Browns regularly pass on food donations via their customers and through surplus stick to additionally support the charity based in Ferring.

“We are thrilled to have raised £750 for Wadars. They provide such an important service in helping to care for and then re homing animals. They also work tirelessly for the local wildlife. Because of the pandemic, the figure is not quite as much as we wanted to raise but we will continue to support Wadars over the next year and have some exciting fundraising ideas to implement once some sort of normality is restored. A special thank you to all our customers who have made this donation possible and also for their generous food donations to Wadars and our other charities which can be done in either store.”

Tracey from Wadars commented:

“We are extremely grateful to everyone at Brown’s Natural Pet Store for their ongoing support, especially during such a difficult year. The Covid-19 pandemic completely devastated our local fundraising activities, and we are delighted to have received the donation which will help us to continue looking after dogs, cats and other small animals until they can be found new homes. And a special thank you to all of the Brown’s customers that have supported Wadars over the last year.”
