It’s that time of year where our spa diary is starting to fill up very quickly! With the warmer weather here, all our lovely doggies becoming very hot and are in desperate need of a summer pamper. Then before we know it we will be taking Christmas bookings!
Over the last few months, we have been doing a lot of clip offs on breeds such as Spaniels, Cockerpoos and Shih Tzus. This will keep their coats more manageable over summer whilst they are swimming in the sea and enjoying lots of lovely walks! This will keep them a lot cooler by having a shorter coat.
We have also seen breeds such as Labradors, Pugs and Boxers coming in for our de-shedding mudbath treatment which works amazingly to get rid of all that dead coat they leave lying around the house!
It’s the season also where we can see lots of “friends” such as fleas and ticks appearing on your pets . If you notice your dog is scratching or may appear to have fleas you can pop them in to see us for a natural flea bath which has neem oil to help prevent fleas and ticks.
I would recommend using the ‘For All Dogkind’ daily freshener spray on your four legged friend this time of year. Not only does it smell divine, it has neem oil in it too which will help to repel fleas and ticks. If you find a tick on your dog, please drop in to the spa and we can safely remove it for you.
Even though it’s a busy time of year with summer holidays, family events and relaxing in the sunshine, it’s still important to keep your dogs coat maintained at home in between grooming appointments. Brushing and combing your dogs coat daily, will prevent tangles and avoids us having to clip your dogs coat shorter than you would like! Daily grooming at home is super beneficial for checking your dogs health too, checking your dogs skin for fleas, ticks, and any lumps and bumps.
This time of year we see a lot of grass seeds getting stuck in between toes and even in your dogs armpits. If you find you are struggling in between grooms with your dogs coat and brushing, please give me a call or pop in to see me for some advice.
Over the last few months, we have been working closely with Mandy Locks from Akira Dog Training and seen brilliant results with one of our extremely fearful clients Jeff the Cockerpoo. We look forward to continuing our work with Mandy in the future to make visits to the spa a fear free experience for him. For the full article and video follow the link here.
*Don’t forget it’s our Summer Sizzler bath and towel dry special on Monday 19th August. Just £20 for a usually £32 treatment. All the details can be found on the poster below or via our events page.
Lastly I would like to say a massive thank you to all our lovely loyal clients for their support over the last year. Its crazy to think we have been open for just over a year already and have over 300 clients!
We have so much planned for the future and can’t wait to share it with you all.
Wishing you all a happy and healthy summer,
