Ruffwear Hydro Plane Purple Orchid

THE DISC THAT FOLLOWS THEM INTO EVERY ADVENTURE

For dogs who treat any body of water as a starting pistol, the Ruffwear Hydro Plane in Purple Orchid is the logical companion. This buoyant floating disc soars equally well across a beach or a snow-covered hillside, landing to float visibly high on the surface and waiting for the dog who is already more than halfway there. Soft, oversized, and built from abrasion-resistant materials, it is kind to teeth and gums on impact while being durable enough to take on the enthusiasm that comes with a dog who never misses a session.

Why it's a great choice

• Buoyant and high-floating on the water surface: The design keeps the disc sitting high and visible above the waterline, making it straightforward for dogs to locate, approach, and pick up cleanly even after a long swim out.

• Works on water and snow throughout the year: From summer beach trips to winter hillside walks, the Hydro Plane performs consistently across surfaces and seasons, giving year-round relevance to a single fetch toy.

• Soft construction kind to teeth and gums: The flexible, soft material means the disc is gentle on impact regardless of how assertively it is retrieved, making it a safe choice for regular, enthusiastic play.

• Abrasion-resistant for long-term durability: Built to withstand the repeated combination of throws, beach surfaces, grit, and persistent retrieval that comes with daily use by a committed fetcher.

Key benefits for your Dog

• High-visibility disc for confident water retrieval: The vivid Purple Orchid colourway sits clearly against water and snow, making it easy for dogs to spot and track from a distance and giving them the confidence to commit to a full retrieve.

• Builds water confidence through positive play: A floating, soft, easy-to-retrieve disc gives reluctant water dogs a clear, low-pressure reason to enter the water, built around a positive fetch interaction rather than direct encouragement.

• Year-round aerobic exercise in varied environments: By working effectively on both water and snow, the Hydro Plane extends the range of physical environments available for high-intensity exercise across the full calendar year.

• Medium and Large sizes for different breeds: Two size options ensure dogs from medium sporting breeds to larger retrievers have a disc that is correctly proportioned for their mouth, body, and play style.
