What does cold-pressed actually mean?
Traditional dog food (kibble) is made by a process called extrusion, where ingredients are cooked at high pressure and high temperatures (around 120°C+). Cold-pressed is made at just 65°C, and is designed to preserve the nutritional value and flavour of the ingredients.

Easier on digestion
Standard extruded kibble swells when it reaches the stomach, whereas cold-pressed food dissolves and breaks down gently. The nutrients are slowly released, making it much gentler on digestion - perfect for dogs with sensitivities, gut issues, or those who suffer with bloat.

Great for sensitivities & allergies
Due to the gentle digestion process, nutrients from cold-pressed food are more available to the body. The gut doesn’t have to work so hard to process the goodness you’re putting in, so as a result, you may see an improvement in skin issues such as itching or excess shedding.

Tasty for fussy dogs
Cold-pressed food can be much more palatable, as the natural flavours of the ingredients are preserved when cooked at lower temperatures. Cold-pressed can be fed on its own or alongside wet or raw food. Due to the pellet-like shape of cold-pressed, it’s a handy option for slow feeders, snufflemats, and foraging games- or simply in your pocket when training on walks.

As cold-pressed digests in a similar way to raw food, it can provide many of the same benefits. If you have limited freezer space or are going away and cannot store raw food, cold-pressed is a great choice.
Due to the nutritional density of cold-pressed food, you don’t need to feed much to give your dog everything they need. A 15kg adult dog on Tribal, for instance, would need 200g a day- meaning a 12kg bag would last around 8 weeks.
