WHEN ONE MEAT JUST IS NOT ENOUGH

Some dogs are relentlessly enthusiastic about everything that lands in their bowl, and some have opinions. For the second kind, a dual-protein recipe that combines the lean, low-fat character of turkey with the vitamin B richness and deeper flavour of duck tends to hold its appeal considerably better than a single-meat food. Wilsons Premium Cold Pressed Turkey & Duck combines dried ground turkey at 18.5% and dried ground duck at 15% with turkey hydrolysate at 6%, beet fibre, apple, and a full prebiotic and postbiotic stack, cold pressed at low temperature to produce a grain-free, chicken-free food with 25% crude protein and genuine palatability credentials.

Why it's a great choice

  • Turkey at 18.5% and duck at 15%:Dried ground turkey leads the protein base at 18.5% with dried ground duck at 15%, delivering a complementary amino acid profile that includes the lean muscle protein of turkey and the richer nutrient density of duck, alongside turkey hydrolysate at 6% for additional palatability.

  • Grain free and chicken free:This recipe contains no grain and no chicken, making it appropriate for dogs with chicken sensitivity who still tolerate other poultry and for those following a grain-free diet for digestive or health reasons.

  • Postbiotic and prebiotic gut support:Postbiotic yeast at 0.4% (4g/kg) and MOS at 500mg/kg work alongside chicory and inulin to support the gut microbiome from multiple angles, contributing to digestive health and consistent stool quality in a recipe based on two poultry proteins.

  • Apple and botanical additions:Apple at 0.8% provides natural sugars, pectin fibre, and antioxidants, while ginger, turmeric, thyme, cranberry, dandelion root, marigold yellow, and lutein round out the botanical profile with anti-inflammatory and immune-supporting compounds.

Key benefits for your Dog

  • 25% crude protein for lean muscle:At 25% crude protein from turkey and duck, this recipe provides the daily amino acid requirement for muscle maintenance in adult dogs, with turkey fat at 1.5% and rapeseed oil contributing a balanced fat profile that supports energy without excess.

  • Glucosamine and chondroitin for joints:Glucosamine at 400mg/kg and chondroitin sulphate at 300mg/kg are included within the recipe, providing daily joint support that benefits active adult dogs and those beginning to show signs of mobility changes.

  • Calcium at 1.5% for bone strength:With calcium at 1.5% and phosphorus at 0.9%, the mineral profile supports strong bones and teeth alongside the joint compounds already present in the recipe, making this appropriate for adult dogs of all sizes.

  • Carnitine for energy metabolism:Carnitine at 50mg/kg supports the efficient conversion of dietary fat to energy, which is particularly relevant in a poultry-based diet and contributes to the sustained energy levels that active adult dogs need from a daily serving.

A grain-free, chicken-free cold pressed dog food combining turkey at 18.5% and duck at 15% for adult dogs who benefit from a dual-poultry protein recipe with postbiotic gut support and natural botanicals.

How to Transition to Cold Pressed

Switching your dog’s diet gradually helps prevent digestive upset. Follow this 7-day plan:

Days 1–3:
Introduce cold pressed as a treat, gradually increasing the amount (no more than 25% of their daily intake). If your dog is on a strict diet, slightly reduce their old food to balance calories.

Days 4–6:
Replace their breakfast with cold pressed (half their daily portion), while still feeding their old food for dinner.

Day 7-9:
Feed 75% of daily intake as cold pressed, make up the rest with their old food.

Day 9+:
Fully transition to 100% cold pressed.

For dogs with sensitive stomachs, extend each phase by 2–3 days for a gentler adjustment.
