ONE COAT, THREE WAYS, NO EXCUSES FOR A WET DOG

The Danish Design 3-in-1 Dog Coat Black is built on a straightforward idea: one coat should be enough for whatever the year throws at you. Waterproof and breathable, with a detachable soft fleece, it gives you three options: both layers when it's cold and wet, the waterproof alone for milder rain, or just the fleece on cool dry mornings. With six sizes from XS to XXL, and a harness access point with a waterproof dual zip, this coat is as practical as it is classic.

Why it's a great choice

  • Three coats in one for any weather: Layer the waterproof outer and fleece together on cold, wet days, use the waterproof alone when it's mild and damp, or pop on just the fleece when it's dry but chilly. One coat covers the whole year, so you won't need separate winter and summer options taking up space in the cupboard.

  • Designed to work with harnesses: Your dog wears their harness underneath the Danish Design 3-in-1 Dog Coat Black as normal, and the lead clips through to the harness via a dedicated access point with a waterproof dual zip.

  • Adjustable fit for a wide range of breeds: Velcro straps, a funnel neck collar with a drawcord toggle, and elastic leg straps all work together to keep the coat snug and secure without restricting movement. Six sizes from XS to XXL mean there's a fit for most dogs, from small to large breeds.

  • Reflective belt for safer evening walks: A built-in reflective belt makes your dog easier to spot in low light, and there's a sewn-in fixing point to attach a compatible Danish Design Safety Light for extra visibility on dark winter mornings and evenings.

Key benefits for your Dog

  • Adapts to the day, not the other way around: Because you can mix and match the layers, you'll always have the right coat for the conditions without any guesswork.

  • Covers the chest and neck, not just the back: The full chest piece and adjustable funnel neck collar shield your dog from rain, wind, and wet grass, keeping them warm and making post-walk cleanup much quicker.

  • Harness underneath, lead clips through: The harness sits underneath the coat, and the lead attaches to it through the waterproof dual zip access point, so you get full harness control without removing the coat or leaving a gap in the waterproofing. It's a small detail that saves a lot of faff on cold, wet mornings.

  • Easy to wash and maintain: Wash the Danish Design 3-in-1 Dog Coat Black in the machine at 30 degrees after muddy walks, and if it starts to let water in over time, it can be reproofed with a standard waterproofing spray to bring it back to its best. Simple to care for and built to last.

A waterproof and breathable 3-in-1 dog coat in classic black, in six sizes from XS to XXL. The kind of coat you reach for whatever the forecast says, and it always does the job perfectly.

What you'll need:

A soft tape measure
A calm dog (treats help!)
A friend to assist (optional, but handy!)

You will need to measure your dog's back length, neckline and chest girth.

Back length (Base of Neck to Base of Tail):
Start at the base of your dog’s neck—where the neck meets the shoulders, not where a collar usually sits and lay the tape along their spine to the base of their tail. When measuring your dog’s back, always allow for the natural curve of their spine — coats aren’t meant to be drum-tight!

Tip: Make sure the dog is standing, not sitting or lying down. Add 1–2cm for comfort and ease of movement. If your dog is between sizes, it’s usually best to go up a size for a better fit and coverage.

Neckline (Base of Neck):
Wrap the tape measure snugly around the base of your dog’s neck—where the neck meets the shoulders, not where a collar usually sits.

Tip: Think of where a polo shirt collar would naturally sit on your dog. Don’t measure too high.

Chest Girth (Widest Part of Rib Cage):
Find the widest part of your dog’s ribcage—usually just behind the front legs. Wrap the tape measure around this area to get the chest girth.

Tip: Keep the tape snug but not tight. You should be able to slip one or two fingers between the tape and your dog’s body.

Measuring Tips for Best Results:

Keep your dog calm and standing upright. Ask a friend to help and use treats or toys to keep them relaxed.

For fluffy dogs, part or gently press down the fur to get an accurate measurement close to the body.

Measure more than once to make sure your numbers are consistent.

Please measure your dog carefully against the size guide before ordering. Not sure which size to choose? Message us on live chat and we'll help you pick. Returns due to sizing issues are at the customer's own cost.
