THIRTY PERCENT CHICKEN, COLD PRESSED AND NOTHING HELD BACK

Chicken is the most universally appealing protein in the dry food category, and when the starting point is 30% dried ground chicken rather than a lower inclusion padded with cheaper fillers, it earns a different conversation. Wilsons Premium British Cold Pressed Dog Food Chicken leads with dried ground chicken at 30%, supported by chicken hydrolysate at 6% and chicken oil at 3%, cold pressed alongside sweet potato at 28.5%, peas at 25.5%, carrot, kale, apple, and a full prebiotic and postbiotic stack. At 26% crude protein with 14% crude fat and free from grain, it is a high-inclusion chicken recipe that delivers on the label.

Why it's a great choice

  • Thirty percent dried ground chicken: Dried ground chicken at 30% is the leading ingredient, supported by chicken hydrolysate at 6% and chicken oil at 3%, meaning chicken-derived ingredients make up nearly 40% of the recipe and drive both the protein content and palatability.

  • Grain free with sweet potato and peas: Sweet potato at 28.5% and peas at 25.5% replace grain as the primary carbohydrate and fibre sources, providing a digestible energy base free from wheat, rice, and oats for dogs that perform better on a grain-free diet.

  • Postbiotic and prebiotic gut support: Postbiotic yeast at 0.4%, MOS at 500mg/kg, chicory, and inulin provide multi-angle gut microbiome support, contributing to consistent digestion and firmer stools in a recipe based on a single well-loved protein source.

  • Carrot, kale, and apple for natural nutrition: Carrot at 1%, kale at 0.5%, and apple at 0.5% add natural beta-carotene, vitamin K, fibre, and antioxidants from whole food sources, complementing the botanical additions of ginger, turmeric, thyme, cranberry, and dandelion root.

Key benefits for your Dog

  • 26% crude protein for muscle maintenance: At 26% crude protein with chicken as the sole meat source, this recipe meets the daily amino acid requirements of adult dogs and provides the complete protein profile that supports lean muscle maintenance and repair.

  • Lean protein and fat balance: With crude fat at 14% and raw ash at just 6.5%, this recipe has a clean nutritional profile that suits dogs across a range of activity levels, from those maintaining a healthy weight to those with higher daily energy requirements.

  • Glucosamine and chondroitin for joints: Glucosamine at 400mg/kg and chondroitin sulphate at 300mg/kg provide daily joint support, alongside carnitine at 50mg/kg for metabolic health, making this appropriate as a complete daily food for adult dogs of all sizes.

  • Botanical anti-inflammatory support: Ginger, turmeric, thyme, cranberry, dandelion root, and marigold yellow contribute antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds that support immune function and general wellbeing, complementing the nutritional foundation of the chicken and vegetable base.

How to Transition to Cold Pressed

Switching your dog’s diet gradually helps prevent digestive upset. Follow this 7-day plan:

Days 1–3:
Introduce cold pressed as a treat, gradually increasing the amount (no more than 25% of their daily intake). If your dog is on a strict diet, slightly reduce their old food to balance calories.

Days 4–6:
Replace their breakfast with cold pressed (half their daily portion), while still feeding their old food for dinner.

Day 7-9:
Feed 75% of daily intake as cold pressed, make up the rest with their old food.

Day 9+:
Fully transition to 100% cold pressed.

For dogs with sensitive stomachs, extend each phase by 2–3 days for a gentler adjustment.
